Characterization of Pb-Free KNbO3- and (Na,Bi)TiO3-Based Piezoelectric Single-Crystals Using X-ray and Neutron Diffraction
In view of serious environmental concerns with traditional Pb-based piezoelectrics, the search for new Pb-free alternatives has intensified recently. A thorough investigation of structure-property relationships in Pb-free piezoelectrics is desired in order to design new material compositions with high electromechanical properties that can be operated over a broader range of conditions. Recent a...
متن کاملGrowth and Characterization of Lead-free Piezoelectric Single Crystals
Lead-free piezoelectric materials attract more and more attention owing to the environmental toxicity of lead-containing materials. In this work, we review our first attempts of single crystal grown by the top-seeded solution growth method of BaTiO₃ substituted with zirconium and calcium (BCTZ) and (K0.5Na0.5)NbO₃ substituted with lithium, tantalum, and antimony (KNLSTN). The growth methodology...
متن کاملLow temperature X-ray luminescence of KNbO3 crystals
We have studied X-ray luminescence of KNbO3 single crystal. The 575 nm luminescence band has been studied in the temperature range of 15±45 K. The quenching parameters were found to be Q 12 3 meV and m 4 10 sÿ1. No luminescence has been observed under heavy ion excitation (Kr ions, 8.63 MeV/amu) even at 15 K. Ó 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. متن کاملDiffraction of X-ray Pulse in Crystals
Recently the investigation of the extremely short (subpicosecond) X-ray pulses interaction with crystals takes interest because of the development of linac-driven X-ray Free Electron Laser, operating in the SASE mode and X-ray Volume Free Electron Laser [1, 2]. According to the analysis [3] short X-ray pulse passing through a crystal is accompanied by the significant time delay of radiation. Th...
متن کامل[4] X-Ray Diffraction of Protein Crystals
The X-ray study of protein crystals is a difficult and highly specialized field. Eventually, when the structure of a few proteins has been unraveled, the results will be of vital interest to ensytiologists, since they should give information about the spatial arrangement of the “active site” of the enzyme. But meanwhile X-ray methods will have only a secondary interest for enzymologists. The eq...
